History

"Coming together is a beginning. Keeping together is process.
Working together is sucess."  - Henry Ford
Ford Motor Company first brought the assembly line into its industry in October of 1913. Many variations of the assembly line had been used as early as the 2nd century in China. The assembly line can be traced all the way back to Assyrian times, where they used a system of buckets called the "chain of pots". As well as China and ancient Assyria, a form of the assembly line was used in medieval Europe, where it was used by miners. Although Ford is credited with being the sole creator of the assembly line, there has been much debate over who the real founder was. Some say Ransom E. Olds was the first founder of the assembly line, and Ford merely improved by adding a conveyor belt to it. Even though Olds was said to be the first founder, Henry Ford was the first to bring it into use so effectively.
